Richard Lowenberg Other Works "New town plan", Telluride Mountain Village, 1981, I rarely practice architecture, planning and environmental design, intending to do so only on projects that meet personally set eco-criteria. Materialism, growth and development are difficult issues involved in all real-world home and community-building practices. "Baja" was the title for a one month 'survival' camping and art-making trip by six Bay Area artists to Baja, follow-up work, and resulting exhibitions at SFMOMA; Nancy Hoffman Gallery, NYC; and a DC gallery. This was an early bio-regional exploration in art-making for me. "Terrorism", text from a letter sent to residents of Nevada and Utah (downwinders) in 1955 by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission. "Residential Design" is one of a few site-specific, passive energy-efficient, hand-made houses I designed in the mid-1970s in Marin County, CA, with Harlan Floyd and crew/family.
