Salmon City

On March 24, 1999 Puget Sound Chinook Salmon were listed as regionally threatened under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The greater Seattle Area is the first major Metropolitan region in the country to receive an ESA listing.

WWW.Salmoncity.NET examines this critical issue by exploring diverse challenges facing Seattle residents - both human and fish - though an interactive web site that references historical relationships and suggests progressive urban lifestyle practices that may to help curtail the rapid disappearance of this amazing keystone species. The site was one of thirteen community art projects commissioned and sponsored through combined Percent for Art Funding from Seattle Public Utilities and Seattle City Light and administered by the Seattle Arts Commission.
