Jim Nollman Field Projects Jim Nollman travels throughout the Northern Hemisphere improvising music with Cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises). He has developed unique sound gathering devices to create recordings in remote areas with as minimal an impact as possible. Nollman has worked in collaboration with scientists, government entities, commercial interests, artists and indigenous communities on numerous sound and interspecies related projects. On the non-human front he has collaborated with Orcas, Sperm Whales and dolphins throughout the world. He is currently engaged in an ambitious project of interaction with beluga whales inhabiting the White Sea in the Russian Republlic of Karelia.
