Biography


Collier was awarded a 2004 grant from the Illinois Arts Council in support of "I'll Have a Starling," his solo show at the Cloyde Snook Gallery (Adams State College, CO). Past grants were awarded by the City of Bloomington Cultural District (2003) and the New York Foundation for the Arts (2000-2001). He won the sixth annual emerging artist competition at CEPA Gallery (Buffalo, NY) in 2001, with favorable reviews in Art Papers and local publications, and in the same year he had a solo show in the Raúl Martínez Gallery (Havana, Cuba) as part of an international cultural festival. He has previously shown work in Illinois, New York, Rhode Island, Utah, and Nebraska.

Collier was born in Long Island, NY, in 1970. He currently lives and works in Bloomington, Illinois.
