The Grasslands Project , Melbourne, Australia, 1995-1997

A public project under a freeway in downtown Melbourne. Miller transformed the site from a neglected trash ridden pocket of land to a more sustainable aesthetic space. In the process she uncovered a turn of the century bluestone cobble lane and planted 6,000 plugs of native grasses.

The Sub-Division , 1992

A site-specific re-vegetation project in the form of a sub-division. Over time it will break down to become part of the landscape leaving only mounds of vegetation allowing nature to complete the design process through the dynamics of growth and change also providing a seed bank for future plant generations as well as food for various forms of small wildlife.
